New Boat Owner Orientation
Join Captain Ed Boyle for a half or full day New Boat Owner Orientation to gain the confidence & skills you need for a summer full of boating! You will learn what to do before leaving the dock, how to conduct a pre- and post-trip inspection, basic rules of the water, seamanship & navigation, and how to return your boat safely to your slip.
Family Fishing Fun
Get ready for a fun-filled & educational day for the whole family! You will learn about the basic gear needed for a safe fishing trip, review the regulations and rules set by the Division of Fish & Wildlife, and visit your choice of north or south fishing areas. By the end of the day, you will be able to demonstrate the most common fishing techniques.
Boating For Beginners
This 3-4 hour orientation will be customized to match your level of knowledge. It will cover what should be included in a pre-trip check, no-stress docking, basic safety on the water, local boating rules of the road, and post trip procedures to best care for your new boat.
Custom Fishing Day Trips
Have an idea for a fishing trip you want to plan? Captain Ed Boyle is happy to assist in planning & navigating custom day trips in the local area. Options include, but are not limited to, bottom fishing at a local offshore artificial reefs, casual fishing in the bay for beginners, or deep-sea tuna fishing trips. Before leaving, you will also review the equipment needed and the tactics that will be used.
Sandbar Safety
In this half day course, you will be introduced to some well-known sandbars, as well as some local secret spots! You can choose to take a trip to the Ship Bottom Sandbar or Tices Shoal, where you will have the chance to practice close quarters anchoring and learn how to keep your boat & yourself safe in a crowd.
Coastal Boat Deliveries
Happy Captains Boating Instruction is happy to offer on-water deliveries from the New York Harbor area to the southern Chesapeake Bay or anywhere in between.
PRICES FOR ALL SERVICES:
$75 / hour up to 30ft LOA
Additional charges may be added for out-of-town bookings and larger vessels.
